ACTV's HyperTV Networks and the Georgia Professional Standards Commission Announce Professional Development Induction and Mentoring Initiative through eSchool® Online Agreement runs through June 2003 (New York, October 9, 2002) - ACTV's (Nasdaq: IATV) wholly owned subsidiary, HyperTV Networks, Inc., today announced a contract with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission to develop and deploy an online professional mentoring program in accordance with the Georgia Teacher Induction Plan. Under the agreement, ACTV HyperTV Networks will consult with members of the Georgia Professional Standards Commission to render their existing pedagogy into an online integrated multiple media presentation using the convergent, interactive and collaborative functionality of eSchool® Online version Dr. F. D. Toth, Executive Secretary of the Georgia Professional Standards Commission stated: “We are delighted to be working with ACTV to develop online professional development content and functionality that will deliver state-of-the-art training while establishing an online mentoring community through the eSchool® Online software.” eSchool® Online will use ACTV’s patented HyperTV technology to integrate streamed video, the automatic delivery of relevant web content, online collaboration and embedded assessment to provide a web-based software environment that will allow for the scaleable delivery of teacher training content within Georgia. The distribution of this series through eSchool® will enable the Georgia Professional Standards Commission to collect relevant and timely data from teachers utilizing the content. This series will be accessed on-demand by teachers equipped with multimedia computers connected to the Internet, and the content will be aligned to the Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (INTASC) standards.
