ACTV's HyperTV Networks and Brooklyn School District announce the creation of two new professional development series with eSchool® Online

(New York, November 12, 2002) - ACTV's (IATV Nasdaq) wholly owned subsidiary, HyperTV Networks, Inc., today announced a contract with the Community School District 22 in Brooklyn to develop and deploy two new customized online professional development series. These new series, covering approximately 25 hours of content, will address balanced literacy for grades 3-5 and elementary mathematics for grades K-2.

Under the agreement, ACTV HyperTV Networks will consult with leaders in the district to create these new scaleable online integrated multiple media series using the convergent, interactive and collaborative functionality of eSchool® Online version 4.0.

John Comer, Superintendent of District 22, and recent recipient of the Educational Research and Development Institute's 2002 Exceptional Leadership Superintendent Award for the United States stated: “We are happy to be extending our working relationship with ACTV into the fourth consecutive year. We have had a very positive experience converting our professional development initiatives into online programming that can be accessed on-demand. Through eSchool, we are able to combine the power of video-based presentations with the interactive and collaborative functionality of the web, to provide our teachers with an effective training program that is much more suited to their needs.”

eSchool
® Online will use ACTV's patented HyperTV technology to integrate streamed video, the automatic delivery of relevant web content, online collaboration and embedded assessment to provide a web-based software environment that will allow for the scaleable delivery of teacher training content within the district. The distribution of this content through eSchool will enable the district to collect relevant and timely data from teachers utilizing the material. These series, aligned to the New York State standards, will be accessed on-demand by teachers equipped with multimedia computers connected to the Internet.

Bruce J. Crowley, president of HyperTV Networks, Inc. stated, “District 22, under the leadership of John Comer, continues to build upon the body of work it has developed with us and we are thrilled to continue our work with such an innovative district.”

Over the past four years, the district has developed eSchool
® Online programming in the following areas: professional development for balanced literacy grades K-2, instructional content for middle school science and social studies, and an instructional science series created for the Magnet School.
